Who we are

Sylvy helps two consenting adults exchange private check-ins and human-authored support. The responsible business is One Big Canopy LLC, 344 Grove St, Unit #840, Jersey City, NJ 07302.

Who may participate

The pilot is invite-only, U.S.-only, English-only, and for adults age 18 or older.

The intended pilot runs from August 20, 2026 through January 1, 2027.

Information we use

  • Account records, including your first name and your email address and U.S. mobile number, which Sylvy verifies with a one-time code texted to you; and invitation, consent, and relationship-control records.
  • If someone invites you, the U.S. mobile number they entered, even when you have no account. Sylvy keeps it only to match the invitation when you open the link the person shares with you, and does not send you a text because of an invitation. The invitation expires after seven days, and Sylvy deletes the number within seven days after it expires or is revoked.
  • Private check-ins and human-authored support notes you choose to create.
  • Schedule, delivery, opt-out, deletion, safety-hold, and content-free audit records.
  • Limited technical records needed for security, reliability, and support.

Sylvy does not use message content for advertising, retargeting, data brokerage, generalized model training, diagnosis, or relationship scoring.

Sharing and SMS copies

Check-ins begin private. Before an initial share, Sylvy shows the exact authored words and the one confirmed reciprocal recipient. If authorized, that exact content may be sent by SMS. Twilio, mobile carriers, device notifications, backups, screenshots, and the recipient may retain copies outside Sylvy's control. SMS is not end-to-end encrypted, and Sylvy cannot reliably recall those external copies.

Mobile information and messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Service providers may process this information only to furnish and secure the requested service.

Messaging choices

Message frequency varies with configured cadence and human activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop text delivery, START to resume after an opt-out, or HELP for support information. Ending a connection stops new relationship work; muting is private to the person who chooses it.

Security, retention, and deletion

The proposed baseline uses managed encryption at rest and TLS in transit, not application-layer or end-to-end encryption. Active history does not expire automatically. A person may hide an item from their own view, an author may remove their source from active Sylvy use, and an account holder may request deletion. Primary systems, backups, provider records, legal holds, and copies already delivered have different limits and timing; deleting from Sylvy cannot recall external copies.

Twilio, Sylvy's SMS provider, keeps records of the messages it sends and receives, including message text, phone numbers, and delivery status, and keeps its own backups under Twilio's retention rules. Sylvy sets Twilio's message-record retention to the shortest setting available, does not redact those records, and cannot promise a date by which Twilio deletes them. Deleting a check-in or your account removes it from Sylvy and stops new sending; it does not delete copies held by Twilio, mobile carriers, or devices.

Safety limits

Sylvy is not a crisis, emergency, medical, or monitoring service. It does not guarantee immediate human review or automatic outreach. In the United States, call or text 988 for crisis support; call 911 for immediate danger or a medical emergency.
